Jonathan Wilson and Mike Campbell will host the second annual Merry Minstrel Musical Circus, A Holiday Gathering and Goodwill Jamathon at the Troubadour on December 20. Performers at last year's concert included Jackson Browne, Bob Weir, Jeff Lynne, Benmont Tench and more, who all came together for a night that the Los Angeles Times praised for its "musical celebration and camaraderie." The special guests at this year's Jamathon will be announced over the coming weeks, and all proceeds from the concert will benefit Manual Arts High School and Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund. Tickets go on sale on November 22, 2013 through http://ticketf.ly/1i00j9B.

Jonathan Wilson, whose new album Fanfare was released in October on Downtown Records, has again teamed with Mike Campbell (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers) to create a holiday benefit concert. Last year's concert featured many memorable moments of musical collaboration and interplay. "The room was packed wall-to-wall," declared Rolling Stone about last year's event. "Campbell...and Wilson traded jagged, searing guitar lines. Weir stretched out for several minutes of improv with the band and also led the Dead's 'West L.A. Fadeaway' and 'Truckin',' with four guitars onstage in epic twang."

One of this year's beneficiaries, Manual Arts High School, is the third oldest high school in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Originally a vocational school, it now offers a traditional curriculum and supports two full-time music instructors and multiple band, guitar and vocal classes. With over 300 students enrolled in music, and a burgeoning band program, the instructors are in dire need of new brass and woodwind instruments. More information about Manuel Arts High School can be found at mahs.org.

The concert will also benefit Tazzy Animal Fund, a full-functioning animal rescue located in Los Angeles that focuses on senior and medically challenged dogs. Tazzy cares for these dogs until a loving home can be found, and also provides community programs for pet owners struggling to care for their animals. Food, emergency medical care and free and low cost dog training are a few programs Tazzy offers. Additional information about Tazzy can be found at http://www.tazzyfund.com/.
